Special Olympics Sweden Invitational Games 2026 is an international event where over 2,000 athletes from around 15 countries will compete in at least 10 different sports. In addition to the competitions, we offer activities for the whole family, a memorable opening ceremony and a celebration through the city, filled with energy, warmth and inclusion.

The official volunteer registration opens in February 2026, but we’re already collecting expressions of interest so we can offer you a spot as soon as the registration opens.

We offer two types of volunteer roles: Event Volunteer and Healthy Athletes Volunteer.

All volunteers get volunteer uniforms and meals.

Event Volunteer

There are many different tasks as an Event Volunteer. You might help with branding at the venues, direct parking, serve food, entrance host, assist during medal ceremonies, support as a competition official, be available at the information center – and much more. Every role is equally important to the success of the event.

Healthy Athletes Volunteer

We are looking for people who can help carry out Healthy Athletes during the event in September 2026. By volunteering as a Healthy Athletes Volunteer, you’ll be contributing to a more inclusive society and helping to improve conditions for people with intellectual disabilities.
