Bowling

Bowling is a technical sport characterised by joy and a strong sense of community.

The objective of the game is to knock down ten pins using a bowling ball.

The pins are arranged in a triangular formation at the end of a long, narrow lane.

Bowling is a technical sport played indoors.

Competition

Format: Singles

Classes: Women’s class, men’s class, and ramp class

Classification: Based on average score

One day of Competition

As a bowling participant, you will compete on one of the days: Saturday or Sunday.
On the day you are not competing, there will be other activities available.

Information about the Competition

  • You will play four games without changing lanes.
  • There will be a maximum of 8 players in each cluster.
  • The lanes will be re-oiled after every second squad.
  • The oil pattern will be communicated to all participants two weeks before the competition (it will also be available on the website).

Average score

It is always the club’s responsibility to ensure that the player’s average is correct and reflects their current performance level.

The competition management has the right to move players if they perform 25 points above the upper average limit of their class (cluster of 8 players).

Players Using Ramps

Players using a ramp must bring their own ramp.
There are a limited number of ramps available for loan in the bowling alley, but you must indicate in your registration if you need to borrow one.

Ramp bowling is played with one start per lane.
The player is expected to be assisted by a coach/escort who places the ball on the ramp.
The assistant/escort is not allowed to help the player by aiming the ramp or adjusting the ball’s position beyond an agreed neutral starting position.

If the player does not follow the rules, they will first receive a warning.
If the behaviour continues, the player may be disqualified.
